The SEC is known for its defenses and burly linemen, but will lose many of its top-line pass rushers from 2017. This in turn will pave way for new players across the league to earn the spotlight.

Montez Sweat, Mississippi State
In his first year with the Bulldogs, this rangy and athletic defensive end was the SEC's sack leader in 2017 with 10.5 takedowns, which was tied for 10th in the FBS. He also led the team in tackles for loss with 15.
