Most everybody of any influence is now on record saying they want Texas A&M and Texas to go back playing football on a regular basis.
Texas President Greg Fenves and Texas A&M counterpart Michael K. Young both endorsed the resumption of the series to the Austin American-Statesman last month.
Now Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called for bringing back the game in his State of the State address on Tuesday, a sure-fire applause line.
It’s great everyone’s on the same page saying all the right things, at least publicly. Just remember that Gov. Abbott said pretty much the same thing in October 2017 at the men’s basketball exhibition between the two schools in Houston benefitting Hurricane Harvey victims.
