Texas A&M’s season opener against Northwestern State – which will be Jimbo Fisher’s first game as Aggies coach – has been moved to Thursday, August 30. The game had been scheduled for Saturday, September 1.
The matchup with the Demons, a FCS program, will be televised on the SEC Network, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Central time.
“We appreciate the SEC highlighting our season opener with Coach Jimbo Fisher in prime time,” Texas A&M AD Scott Woodward said in a statement.
The A&M-Northwestern State game is the only SEC game currently scheduled for August 30; there are 10 games involving FBS teams currently scheduled for that day.
