Texas A&M’s Myles Garrett: I plan to play in the Texas Bowl

Don’t worry, Texas A&M fans: You’ll get at least one more chance to see one of the best defensive players in school history.

In the wake of decisions by Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey and LSU’s Leonard Fournette that they would skip their teams’ bowl games, A&M defensive end Myles Garrett released a statement Monday saying he would play in the Aggies’ Texas Bowl matchup December 28 against Kansas State.

“I plan to practice today and prepare to play in the bowl game with my teammates,” Garrett said in the statement.

Fournette and McCaffrey are skipping their bowls to focus their attention on preparation for the 2017 NFL draft.
