COLLEGE STATION -- There was a time when Auburn junior quarterback Jarrett Stidham and a few current Texas A&M football players were destined to be teammates.
In early 2016, four current Aggies were committed to Baylor's 2017 signing class and play with Stidham, who was a back-up quarterback for the Bears. But shortly after former Baylor coach Art Briles was fired in the wake of the school's sexual assault scandal in 2016, all were in search of playing for a different school.
A&M sophomore wide receiver Hezekiah Jones, who was one of the four players who signed with the Aggies, said Stidham was instrumental throughout the whole recruiting process, even after the fallout stemming from Briles' firing.
