COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M freshman receiver/returner Christian Kirk’s early output is a prime example of classification not mattering when it comes to playing time, Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin said Tuesday.
“It says the best players get to play here, whether you’ve been here five years or five days,” Sumlin said.
Kirk has three 100-yard receiving games in only four career opportunities, the last worth 173 yards in the Aggies’ 28-21 overtime victory over Arkansas on Saturday. He leads all SEC freshmen in scoring, touchdowns, receptions, receiving yards, punt return yards, kickoff return yards and all-purpose yards.
