COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M’s Kevin Sumlin and Louisville’s Bobby Petrino have been called great offensive minds. The careers of both have been filled with offensive success, at different levels and at different locations.
As the saying goes, great minds think alike.
Unfortunately for the coaches whose teams will meet in the Music City Bowl, their teams this season have played alike.
Both teams are averaging fewer than 30 points per game this season, which is almost sacrilegious for Petrino and Sumlin offenses. It all comes back to uneven quarterback play.
Texas A&M’s defense had been a major problem the past few seasons.
