Texas A&M wide receiver Kirk Merritt has been dismissed from the team, a report said Wednesday.

Merritt has pleaded not guilty. He originally was suspended by coach Kevin Sumlin on October 28, then reinstated February 1. Merritt was ineligible to play last season because he was sitting out after transferring from Oregon.
Merritt’s attorney had said in a statement that the basis for the incidents was that Merritt was dealing with a “bad case of jock itch.
