COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M coach Rob Childress is saving his ace for Saturday in the NCAA baseball tournament – and throwing steady lefthander Matt Kent at Texas Southern on Friday night in the postseason opener.
“I feel like Matt has a chance to slow down that running game, and he threw really good against (the Tigers) last year,” Childress said. “He gives us the best chance to win (on Friday).”
A&M ace Grayson Long is 9-0 and Kent is 7-1, so it’s hard for the Aggies to go wrong with either in the opener. Should No.
