Texas A&M will honor the victims of Hurricane Harvey by wearing a special helmet sticker during Sunday’s season-opener at UCLA, the school announced Tuesday.
More than half of the players on the Aggies’ roster from the Gulf Coast area were directly affected by the natural storm.
The helmet sticker features the outline of the state of Texas over the universal symbol for a hurricane, as well as a red heart over the affected region.
“It’s really a tough time,” Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin said in the release. “Now that the pictures and the videos are coming out, I think the rest of the world understands what people in this region have known for the last three days.
