Texas A&M spring breakout player No. 2: Will Jace Sternberger earn the starting nod in the revamped tight end spot?

2017 Stats: 21 catches, 336 yards, six touchdowns at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M

The tight end position will resurface in Jimbo Fisher's offense, and Jace Sternberger may be the top candidate to claim the starting spot.

A mid-year JUCO enrollee, Sternberger has led the pack in the first week of spring ball, working with the first team offense in on-air team drills. He came in as the No. 2 JUCO tight end for 2018.

Right now, Sternberger has limited competition. The only returning tight end with playing experience, Aaron Hansford, has not gone through drills with an apparent injury and is also listed as a wide receiver in A&M's updated spring roster.
