Texas A&M secured a commitment for its 2020 recruiting class on Independence Day.
Fort Bend Bush (Richmond) linebacker Kenneth Phillips gave his nonbinding verbal pledge to the Aggies on Thursday, giving A&M 15 commits for the current recruiting cycle. The Aggies' class now ranks 10th nationally, fifth in the SEC.
Phillips, a 5-foot-11 1/2, 205-pound outside linebacker, is a three-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite rating system and the 187th-ranked recruit in the state. He chose A&M over offers from Houston, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Indiana, among others.
