COLLEGE STATION -- With the start of spring camp less than a month away, Texas A&M’s football players filed into their indoor practice facility to continue an important part of the offseason.
The way coach Jimbo Fisher sees it, football is a sport that’s played from the ground up. A solid physical base and a good foundation is necessary to make game-changing plays in the fall.
One could say the same thing about the offseason’s role in shaping a program. It’s why A&M strength and conditioning coach Jerry Schmidt was given a massive raise to leave Oklahoma after 19 seasons.
