Texas A&M picked to finish 3rd in preseason SEC poll; Aggies get little respect on preseason All-SEC teams

Members of the media expect Texas A&M to finish in the top half of the SEC West once again this fall. But they don't expect the Aggies to have many individual accolades. That much was revealed on Friday morning when the SEC unveiled its preseason poll and its All-SEC preseason teams.

Texas A&M was chosen to finish third in the division, trailing overwhelming favorite Alabama, as well as rival LSU. Eight of the conference's 14 teams received at least one vote to win the SEC Championship in December. Texas A&M was not one of those teams.

Last season, Texas A&M tied LSU for second place in the SEC West, thanks largely to the Aggies' head-to-head win over LSU in dramatic, 7-OT fashion.
