Texas A&M fans had high hopes when the Aggies hired Jim Schlossnagle one year ago, but even the most optimistic fans likely didn’t see this first year performance coming. After an up and down start, the Aggies won 8 of 10 SEC weekend series, are 11-4 against ranked opponents, and won the SEC Western Division crown after going 19-11 in conference play. As a result, A&M has continued to rise in the national polls, culminating this week with entering the top five in each of the major polls:
The Ags now enter the SEC Tournament, where they’ll hope to further bolster their NCAA Tournament resume and and earn the right to not only host a Regional, but also be a national seed with a chance to host a Super Regional in College Station with a trip to Omaha on the line.
