COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M sophomore guard Peyton Allen is transferring, according to Aggies coach Billy Kennedy.
Allen, a 6-foot-5 shooter from Springfield, Ill., played in 32 games last season for the Aggies, averaging 4.5 points per game. With one of the nation’s top-rated class already onboard this summer, Allen’s playing time was expected to be limited this season.
“We wish Peyton the best,” Kennedy said in a statement. “He’s a great kid and we support his decision to get closer to home.”
Added Allen in a statement: “I’d like to thank the coaching staff and everyone at Texas A&M, however, I believe it is in my best interest to seek a transfer at this time.
