Clemson (No. 2 in AP/Coaches Polls) comes to Aggieland as the highest ranked non-conference opponent Texas A&M football has ever faced. That previously was held by LSU in 1987 when they were ranked No. 6.
A&M defeated the Demons 59-7 on August 30. In the game, the offense gained 700+ yards for the eighth time in school history. The Aggies set a school record with 40 first downs in the game.
A couple of other notable stats from the game: Trayveon Williams ran for 240 yards which sits only behind Bob Smith’s 297 yards against SMU in 1950; and this was only the second time in school history the offense rushed for 500 or more yards and threw for 200 or more.
