Texas A&M Football is starting a new era with Jimbo Fisher coming over from Florida State where he won a national championship in 2013. His offense will be very different from the offense we’ve seen since R.C. Slocum was let go in 2002.
Over the last 16 years, we’ve seen a spread option attack from Dennis Franchione, a pro-style offense with multiple sets from Mike Sherman and a form of the air raid from Kevin Sumlin. Fisher will bring back the tight end and fullback. Franchione and Sherman used both at times, but Sumlin was a more conventional spread attack with three, four and sometimes five receivers in the game at a time.
