Texas A&M Football: Previewing the Aggies safeties

Of the defensive positions under the most pressure to produce in 2019 for Texas A&M Football, the safety position might just top that list.

A unit that had struggled at times last year, the safeties will need to lead the charge if the Aggies’ revamped defense will be successful.

One of the players leading that charge will be projected starting strong safety Derrick Tucker. Last season, Tucker played in 10 games, making 27 tackles despite not making a single start. Tucker showed out well against Alabama, flashing his potential with five tackles.

Performances such as that will need to be repeated this season as a starter for Tucker, who could be a breakout candidate due to his high potential.
