Texas A&M Football: Martellus Bennett announces retirement

Martellus Bennett has “decided to move on from the world of football“. Assuming this does indeed mean Bennett is electing to retire, the former Texas A&M tight end is wrapping up a 10-year NFL career that took him all over the country.

Drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2008, Bennett played four years in Dallas before stops in New York (with the Giants, Chicago, New England and Green Bay. He was selected for one Pro Bowl in 2014 and won a Super Bowl as a member of the New England Patriots in 2016. He split time between the Packers and the Patriots during his final season, registering 24 catches and no touchdowns in his final nine games.
