Texas A&M football was set to be remarkably deep at the running back position this year, with multiple 4-star recruits vying for touches out of the backfield behind presumed starter Jashaun Corbin. Vernon Jackson had stepped up into the backup role and Fisher liked his size and what it could do against Nickel defenses. Jackson even got runs with the first team when Corbin got hurt.
However, we may not get to see those mismatches from Jackson as it was revealed he suffered a neck injury just before the Maroon And White Game, and Jackson announced on his Facebook page the news was far worse than anticipated.
