Texas A&M football had a pretty successful season in 2018. Jimbo Fisher finished 9-4 in his first season as the Aggies head coach. He took over a pretty talented and experienced roster and it showed on the field. They finished second place in the SEC West for the first time ever, beat LSU for the first time since joining the SEC, and snapped a three-game losing streak in bowl games.
A&M was led by a host of juniors and senior starters, and some of them had breakout seasons with Fisher. Jace Sternberger was a consensus First Team All American, Trayveon Williams was a Second Team All American, and several seniors on defense dominated to give the Aggies a Top 50 defense in yards and scoring, plus a top three rush defense.
