Texas A&M Football: Expect a meaner offensive line in 2018

Over the past couple of seasons, Texas A&M football had the reputation for being a soft team. That usually happens when you can’t run the ball or stop the run. The Aggies weren’t a bad running team under Kevin Sumlin, but they were atrocious at stopping the run for the most part.

They weren’t very good at either in 2017.

Texas A&M’s rush defense was No. 70 in the country, allowing 170.8 yards per game on the ground, and the rush offense only mustered 155.6 yards per game, No. 77 nationally.

The offensive line struggling had Sumlin looking for help, and he turned to Jim Turner, who made a name for himself turning Mike Sherman recruits into first-round NFL Draft picks.
