You won’t find a person that puts more pressure on Jimbo Fisher to succeed with Texas A&M football than the man himself. He knows 9-4 seasons in which the Aggies never threatened to compete for the SEC title will be unacceptable moving forward.
The expectations for year one were as low as they will be in Fisher’s tenure, and in that context the Aggies had a successful season. Teams usually don’t compete for national titles in the first year of a head coach’s tenure — not every coach in Lincoln Riley inheriting an elite program in a weak conference.
