When defensive coordinator John Chavis made his way to Aggieland two seasons ago he was met by the Texas A&M faithful with elation. Unfortunately, that joy quickly turned into the cold shoulder as the defense struggled down the stretch in back to back seasons. Battling injuries and explosive offenses, the SEC west gauntlet has proven to be quite the task for the A&M coaching staff the past two years.
Entering the third season under the man famously nicknamed ‘The Chief’, those challenges are all still present. However, there’s still plenty of reasons for optimism heading into the fall.
