In the last couple of years of Kevin Sumlin’s tenure at Texas A&M football, offensive line was a position that held the offense back at times. Sumlin was lucky enough to inherit some excellent offensive line recruits who were Mike Sherman’s guys, but after that well ran dry Sumlin didn’t recruit the position well enough.
It forced him to bring back Jim Turner to turn things around. Turner was the offensive line coach and recruiter under Sherman and Fisher was smart enough to keep him around. However, the NFL came calling again and Turner joined former colleague Zac Taylor in Cincinnati to be the Bengals offensive line coach.
