Texas A&M Football: 2017 running back depth chart

Tra Carson carried the Aggie backfield for a long while in the beginning of Sumlin’s tenure as the Texas A&M football head coach. He had some help along the way, but the bruiser was the Aggie bell cow for the majority of his time in College Station. When he moved on in 2015 the Aggies needed to find an answer.

Rather than rely on one guy, Sumlin turned to the tandem of Oklahoma transfer Keith Ford and true freshman Trayveon Williams. Ford was tough, the kind of guy built for the SEC.
