Texas A&M has finally found its 2019 quarterback.
Buford (Ga.) Lanier junior Zach Calzada committed to the Aggies on Thursday, filling a hole in their signing class. Oral commitments are nonbinding until a prospect signs a national letter of intent or enrolls at a university.
Ever since Houston St. Pius X junior Grant Gunnell decommitted in February after A&M fired its former coaching staff, the Aggies had been looking for a replacement. Calzada is tentatively part of coach Jimbo Fisher's first full recruiting cycle since Jimbo Fisher was hired in December.
On the surface, Calzada looks like a sleeper recruit.
