COLLEGE STATION – Strep throat slowed Texas A&M guard Jalen Jones this week, but Kansas State couldn’t do the same on Saturday.
“We didn’t have any answers for him,” KSU coach Bruce Weber said.
Jones, who only returned to practice on Friday, collected game highs in points (25) and rebounds (nine) in the Aggies’ 78-68 victory over the Wildcats before about 7,000 fans in Reed Arena on Saturday.
“I got some rest, and I was able to chill in bed a little bit more,” a smiling Jones said of his all-around solid showing.
A&M, in displaying the depth fifth-year coach Billy Kennedy has championed this season, outscored KSU 39-20 off the bench.
