John David Crow, one of the greatest players in the history of the Texas A&M football program, passed away last night at the age of 79.
The running back’s career in College Station, Texas, was a legendary one. He was part of the Aggies’ first team to beat Texas at Darrel K Royal Stadium in 1956. He was the school’s first Heisman Trophy winner in 1957. He played both ways, recording rushing touchdowns, passing touchdowns and five interceptions during his Heisman season.
Today, Texas A&M’s community mourned the loss of the incredible man.
