After entering the season with low expectations (from a national perspective, at least), the Aggie baseball made a big statement at the opening of SEC play by taking two out of three games in a weekend series with top-ranked Vanderbilt. They were rewarded with a rise in all of the major baseball rankings (tempered slightly by a weekday loss to Dallas Baptist).
Texas A&M is now 4-1 against Top 25 teams and 2-1 in SEC play, but only tied for fourth in the SEC West (while only one SEC East team - Georgia - has a winning record).
