The two team traded blows in the first. Missouri put up a pair of runs on two hits, but the Aggies counter-punched with four runs to take the lead in the bottom of the first frame. The Aggie pitching staff was unusually rusty. Kaylor Chafin allowed three home runs, one more than his season long total. One of those blasts was a grand slam. He’d only given up two long balls entering Tuesday’s game.
Austin Homan came few feet from a grand slam of his own, but his slicing line drive landed just past the foul pole. Texas A&M trailed 11-7 when the game was delayed an hour and a half with lightening and rain.
