COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- From the moment he made his collegiate debut more than two years ago, Texas A&M safety Armani Watts has made an impact.
But he didn't grab the headlines that August night when the Aggies opened the 2014 college football season with a win at South Carolina. Quarterback Kenny Hill broke records, and super recruit Myles Garrett -- then a true freshman -- was the subject of attention on defense, but Watts made his presence felt that night, with big hits, pass breakups and an interception.
Now a junior, Watts is around the ball as much as any defender in the SEC through the season's first six weeks, and though still overshadowed to some extent, he seems determined to be noticed.
