The pressure officially is on Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin.
A&M athletic director Scott Woodward said on Tuesday’s “Paul Finebaum Show” that this is a crucial season for the Aggies’ football program. “Coach knows he has to win and he has to win this year,” Woodward said. “We have to do better than we’ve done in the past.”
Woodward says the determination of Sumlin’s performance will not come down to “objective data reading of wins and losses.” Woodward did say he has confidence in Sumlin heading into the season.
Texas A&M has finished 8-5 in each of the past three seasons, with 4-4 the best SEC mark in that time frame.
