Is a vote of confidence from the athletic director really a good thing? For Kevin Sumlin, at least, it’s better than the opposite.
Texas A&M athletic director Scott Woodward told the Bryan-College Station Eagle he has “full confidence” in the Aggies’ coach but expressed concerns with the team’s poor finish.
“I have full confidence that Coach will figure it out and will get it right,” Woodward told the newspaper.
The 2016 season followed an all-too-familiar pattern – a promising start followed by a late-season collapse, notably back-to-back losses to unranked Mississippi State and Ole Miss that tumbled A&M out of the top 10 and ended any hopes of reaching a major bowl.
