The son of former Texas A&M football coach R.C. Slocum is in a medically-induced coma.
According to a post on his Facebook account, John Harvey Slocum collapsed while playing golf on Sunday morning in Midland. Slocum's son was given CPR and had his body temperature lowered following the incident, the former coach said in his post.
The youngest of Slocum's two sons underwent heart surgery in 1999. According to the Bryan-College Station Eagle, the operation to fix a correcting a life-threatening heart defect. Following the surgery, John Harvey graduated in 2001 and went on to work in the oil and gas industry.
