Auburn begins its conference schedule Saturday with a third straight prime-time game, this one against Texas A&M. Gus Malzahn and Kevin Sumlin could use statement wins to show that their respective programs will be in contention in the West. After mediocre showings last season, these two visor-wearing coaches had similar offseasons.
Both have had recent difficulty in finding a quarterback since the exits of Johnny Manziel and Nick Marshall, respectively.
This offseason, the Aggies had issues keeping a quarterback on campus, while the Tigers have had trouble molding a quarterback to Malzahn’s system.
Although Auburn and Texas A&M don’t have a long-standing rivalry, they have had some memorable recent games.
