Robert Williams signs $54 million deal with Celtics

Former Texas A&M Center Robert Williams may only have 13 NBA starts under his belt, but that didn’t stop him from securing a MAJOR pay day, agreeing to a four-year, $54 million contract extension with the Boston Celtics on Friday.

Williams was selected by Boston with the No. 27 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft after two seasons in College Station. While at A&M he was a two-time SEC Defensive Player of the year, and helped lead the 2017-2018 team to the Sweet 16, which included a blowout upset over North Carolina,

Williams is the second Aggie to sign a major contract this NBA offseason, with PG Alex Caruso getting a $37 million deal from the Chicago Bulls earlier this month.
