Things got rather nasty following a Texas A&M men's tennis player's match this past weekend.
After losing in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 6-4), A&M freshman Patrick Kypson appeared to spit on his hand before shaking hands with Ohio State's J.J. Wolf, according to a report by Deadspin.
Kypson did not conceal his action well, doing so as Wolf was walking towards him. The Ohio State freshman proceeded to avoid making contact with Kypson's hand before walking off the court.
A&M head men's tennis coach Steve Denton responded to Deadspin on Sunday evening with the following comment on Kypson's actions:
"Sportsmanship and respect are pillars of the sport of tennis and Texas A&M, and Patrick Kypson's actions at the conclusion of his match at Ohio State were counter to that.
