Former Texas A&M signee Alton Robinson has signed a financial aid agreement with New Mexico State, the Las Cruces Sun-News reported Saturday.
Robinson, a defensive end, reportedly signed the agreement with New Mexico State shortly after he visited the school upon the conclusion of its spring practice.
Financial aid agreements do not bind student-athletes, meaning Robinson could still choose to go elsewhere. He has not yet enrolled at the school, though New Mexico State coach Doug Martin believes he will ahead of the team’s fall camp in August.
Robinson was arrested in February 2016 on a felony robbery charge after allegedly stealing his ex-girlfriend’s cell phone.
