Former Texas A&M and Alabama coach Gene Stallings was on a ventilator for two days after suffering a heart attack over the weekend, according to AL.com. Stallings was taken off the ventilator and received a stent Monday. He is resting at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
Former Auburn coach Pat Dye told AL.com that doctors expect Stallings to make a full recovery. Stallings initially developed a clot and was in ICU at the Paris Regional Medical Center.
He coached at Texas A&M from 1965 to 1971, and won the Cotton Bowl with the Aggies in 1967. He compiled a 70-16 record with Alabama from 1990 to 1996.
