Report: DeSoto's Errol Spence Jr. closing in to face another top pound-for-pound fighter in 2019

Local boxing champion Errol Spence Jr. is reportedly getting closer to defend his title.

According to Ring Magazine, DeSoto fighter is closing in on a deal to face California's Mikey Garcia in Spence's 147-pound weight division. Per the report, the fight could happen in February 2019 in Texas and is currently slated as a pay-per-view bout.

Spence (24-0, 21 KOs) has never fought on PPV. In June, Spence defended his IBF welterweight belt by knocking out Carlos Ocampo.

It was the first fight inside the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, the Cowboys' training facility.
