COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M will sport Adidas for the foreseeable future, after the Aggies inked a big-time deal with the apparel giant this year. Details of the new contract are in the Portland Business Journal.
The new deal puts A&M, which has already worn Adidas, at the top of the Southeastern Conference heap regarding such contracts, according to the journal. The journal writes:
“The university will get $7.1 million in benefits from the deal in the upcoming academic year, including $1.7 million in cash and $4.5 million in equipment and apparel. … The university also will get $200,000 in ‘retail activation’ and $450,000 in marketing support.
