In the last couple of years, Texas A&M has fielded several questions about the middle of its defense.
On Friday, the Aggies picked up a recruit that could eventually fix that as early as next season. Plano East senior linebacker Anthony Hines III committed to the Aggies in a commitment ceremony that featured a DJ.
Hines is ranked the No. 88 overall recruit in 247Sports.com's composite rankings and the second-best inside linebacker in the country. Oral commitments are nonbinding until a prospect signs a national letter of intent or enrolls on campus.
Historically, A&M has struggled recruiting high-end linebackers.
