RB James White transfers from Texas A&M

Lost in the shuffle of National Signing Day is the fact that Texas A&M also got a bit thinner at running back on Wednesday. James White, entering his senior season, has transferred to Lamar.

After a promising freshman year that saw White average 6.95 yards per carry and score three times on 22 carries, he suffered through an injury-riddled 2015 season, when he would have likely split time with senior Tra Carson. In 2016, White fell on the depth chart behind transfer Keith Ford and true freshman Trayveon Williams.

White has one year of eligibility remaining and can play immediately.
