Polls: Late win keeps Alabama on top; LSU, Texas A&M, Florida fall

Alabama’s 10-0 win at LSU on Saturday night didn’t come easily, but the Crimson Tide did just enough to pull out the victory and stay on top in the latest coaches poll released Sunday afternoon.

Alabama received 62 of 64 first-place votes to remain a decisive leader in the poll. The Crimson Tide also likely will remain at No. 1 in the second College Football Playoff rankings of the season released this Tuesday.

LSU, Texas A&M and Florida all fell after losses Saturday. In addition to the Tigers’ loss to Alabama, both the Aggies and Gators fell to unranked SEC teams – Mississippi State and Arkansas, respectively – on the road, causing significant drops from their previous rankings.
