Former local basketball standout Tyler Davis was recognized for his work at Texas A&M this season.
The Aggies' junior center was named a first-team All-SEC selection on Tuesday. The former Frisco Liberty and Plano West standout averaged a team-high 14.7 points per game and also pulled down 8.7 rebounds per contest.
During a year when A&M battled injuries and suspensions to key players, Davis started all 31 games for the Aggies and helped them win 20 games for the third time during coach Billy Kennedy's seven-year tenure. Davis was a second-team All-SEC pick as a sophomore.
