But anyone who's followed Texas A&M the last couple of years knows the statistic's importance.
Two years ago, the Aggies' defense was gassed by the end of the season as the accumulation of plays took its toll. Last season, Kevin Sumlin took steps to limit defensive snaps, even though the former coach knew his days in College Station were likely numbered.
This year, A&M has taken self preservation to another level.
