Add Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith to the list of people that have ridiculed Texas A&M for signing head coach Jimbo Fisher to a 10-year, $75 million contract.
In a report from The Lantern, Ohio State’s student newspaper, Smith called Fisher’s contract “so ridiculous” in a Board of Trustees’ Talent and Compensation meeting last Thursday.
The comments are a little bit ironic, considering Smith and his university compensate their head football coach quite well. Last season Urban Meyer was paid $6.4 million to lead the Buckeyes’ football program, according to USA Today.
