HOOVER, Ala. -- John Franklin III sat on the bench for most of his two years in Florida State and waited for his time to come.
He appeared in just two games in two years before he transferred to East Mississippi Community College in hopes of finding another Football Bowl Subdivision program to play for.
Franklin's wait could be over just in time for Texas A&M's Southeastern Conference opener on Sept. 17.
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said he doesn't know which of three quarterbacks will be starting for the Tigers this season, but praised Franklin when asked about the newcomer on Monday at SEC media days.
